Churches Touching Lives for Christ

Help for the Hurting

What CTLC is all about ...

Where in Greater Bell Country can individuals turn?  That’s the question a group of pastors and lay people grappled with over a decade ago.  Guided by the words of Matthew 25: 34-46, they knew the answer lay in themselves.  In 1994 they founded CTLC, based on four objectives:

  • To provide an atmosphere of spiritual encouragement for those who come, regardless of need.

  • To help individuals access Temple area helping agencies.

  • To serve as a central location for the accumulation and distribution of food, clothing and other goods.

  • To provide opportunities for church members and other volunteers to minister in the name of Christ.

CTLC is an ecumenical organization of churches working with the support of area business and social service groups to meet basic human needs on a temporary and/or emergency basis.  The staff is composed entirely of volunteers who assist 200 plus families per week.  We embrace all ethnic and age groups and, as of September 2016, we have over 18,000 clients on file that have received aid of some kind.

The organization was founded in June 1994 by a group of 7 churches to serve the community of Temple.  In 2000, the organization acquired permanent facilities located at 702 West Avenue G in Temple, TX.  It is presently supported by over 30 area churches and numerous business and social service organizations and serves all rural areas within east Bell County.

Our Mission

Churches Touching Lives for Christ is an evangelical cooperative ministry of churches working together to meet needs of individuals in order to introduce them to Christ.

We take our inspiration from Matthew 25:34-46 “For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me. . ."
